Feasibility Study for Water Supply Schemes from Lake Victoria to Simiyu Region
The consultant in charge of designing the water supply in Simiyu region was tasked with comparing two different design scenarios using GIS. As they did not have the GIS expertise available Chanzo was asked to prepare the calculations in GIS with a given set of variables.
Benefits to the client:
In 2 days of work the client was able to present the two different scenarios to their client, including the flexibility to adjust any of the input variables/conditions. They had expected to need about 30 man days for that.
Chanzo’s tasks included:
- Prepare GIS analysis for two design options for a water supply network in 5 districts in Simiyu Region, Tanzania using QGIS
- Illustrate water supply infrastructure, preparation of calculations to compare the different design scenarios
